Hidden Gem
Apex Mountain Resort remains one of the hidden gems of Canadian skiing. Located a short 30 minute drive from Penticton, BC, Apex is a full service destination resort with quality snow, great weather, incredible terrain, and friendly people. Apex being located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, features the perfect mix between large amounts of precipitation and low humidity that makes for the lightest champagne powder snow imaginable. Smiles stretch from ear to ear, as locals and visitors alike hoot and holler amongst the glades & open terrain, leaving clouds of powder snow to lightly settle behind them. With an average temperature of -4º C, Apex receives about 600 cm of dry "Okanagan" powder each season.
Variety of Terrain
Experience awesome terrain from the smoothest of cruisers to the steepest of chutes. We have the widest variety of trails to challenge or pamper any skill level. Apex has awesome lifts, with a high-speed quad that delivers 2000 feet of vertical in just six and a half minutes to 1112 skiable acres. With a total uphill capacity 6700 riders per hour, you are sure to get around the mountain quickly.
Apex will challenge you, no matter what your skill level, everyday for the rest of your life. You just can't help but get better and better with terrain that just won't stop. Go exploring with a trip over to the south bowls, cruise through the glades in the Wild Side, get your heart pumping on one of the steep 'n' deep narrow runs on the north side, or show off your style in The Pit. With three different exposures to the elements, there is always a "sweet spot" to play on any given day. Hook up with one of our Mountain Hosts or one of the many locals and you'll see why we're so passionate about our great mountain.
As for the beginners and intermediates, don't worry, you will find your
full share of uniform corduroy on gently rolling slopes. Beginners can
start their day on the new Magic Carpet Lift and by mid-day they will
be anxious to ride the high-speed quad up to 7200 feet. From there you
can take in the amazing vistas of the Okanagan Valley before you cruise
down Grandfather's Trail, our longest scenic run of 5 km. You can also
choose to hone your skills on Highway 97 or Juniper. Following the Ridge
Run to the triple chair offers 16 wide and perfectly manicured green
& blue trails sure to thrill all snow sport enthusiasts.
There's much more
If you want more excitement, ride
the Super-pipe or Tim Horton's Tube Park day and night, take a snowmobile
tour or challenge yourself on the ice climbing tower. Perhaps a more
relaxed approach with nature suites your style, with a quiet snowshoe
tour, or skating on our one kilometer night lit adventure skating loop
or a cross country ski on one of 56 world class trails at Nickel Plate
Nordic Centre. After the lifts close, you can dine and party, relax
in your hot tub, or max out your fun playing ice hockey on the outdoor
regulation size ice rink. And of course, there is always a spa treatment
waiting for you too. With great kid's programs, a licensed child care
facility, and a variety of resort activities help make Apex the ideal
family mountain.
