Visitors and locals alike know that the best feeling is pulling into Apex Mountain Resort. You turn that final bend, the mountain comes into view, and you just know it’s going to be a good day!


Getting to Apex Mountain Resort is easily done, with several different routes on well-maintained highways.

  • 33km or 21 miles from Apex, and 23km from the Penticton Airport, which is the closest airport to Apex Mountain Resort. About 40 minutes drive time in total.
  • 89km or 55 miles from West Kelowna to Apex Mountain Resort. You will pass Peachland, Summerland, and Penticton. From Penticton, follow the signs to Apex Mountain Resort for another 40 minutes.
  • Kelowna Airport is the closest International Airport to Apex Mountain Resort, and the second closest airport in general to the mountain. The traffic can be busy coming through the city of Kelowna, but the average drive time is just under 2 hours. The total distance is 73km or 45 miles.
  • IMPORTANT TO NOTE that although online map apps mention the best way to get to Apex from the Eastern direction is via Hedley-Nickelplate Road, it is best to continue past Hedley to Keremeos and then follow highway 3A up to Apex Mountain Resort.
  • 405km or 240 miles East from Apex. Approximately 4.5 hours total drive time.
  • With an approximate drive time of 8 hours 30 minutes, it is 702km or 436 miles from Calgary to Apex Mountain Resort.
  • The major towns or cities you will pass (from Calgary) are Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Golden, Revelstoke, Vernon, & Kelowna. From Kelowna you follow the BC-97N highway until you see signs in Penticton for Apex Mountain Resort.

Apex Mountain Resort Shuttle Bus


Double Diamond Tours is the best way to get to Apex Mountain Resort if you do not have your own vehicle. However, the shuttle only operates on weekends and holidays.


  • 8:30am pick-up at 150 Fairview Place Penticton (Home Hardware), which arrives at the resort around 9:15am.
  • Departs the resort at 3:30pm, getting you back to Penticton at 4:20pm
  • The shuttle runs Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from December 16th until March 24th, 2024. [Excluding December 25th & 26th]
  • 4 passengers minimum are required to run
  • Please pre-book all reservations online at doublediamondtours.ca or by calling directly at 778-781-0929.
  • Walk-on’s are available on the day of, but only if seats are left
  • For groups of 4 or more, please call in advance
  • Round trip purchases MUST be used on the same day
  • Methods of payment include Visa, MasterCard or AMEX. Cash can be used only at the pick-up for single round trips and one way rides
  • A Season Pass is valid Dec. 16, 2023 until March 24, 2024
  • A Christmas Pass is valid Dec. 16, 2023 until Dec. 31, 2023. [Excluding December 25th & 26th]
