Collection of Photos from Apex Mountain Resort
At Apex Mountain Resort you’ll find about 600 cm of dry “Okanagan” powder, awesome terrain, a 2000 ft vertical drop and friendly people, all only about 30 minutes drive from Penticton, BC. Apex Mountain is perfectly located to benefit from huge precipitation, but low humidity with its location nestled between the Coastal Range & the Okanagan Valley. Some might consider Apex to be small, at least by BC standards, but with 78 trails, Apex has something for all levels of skier or snowboarder. There is a Magic Carpet lift for beginners and once you’re ready for the chair, there are an array of wide and groomed green and blue runs spread over fabulous gently rolling hills near the Triple Stocks Chair. The high speed Quad Chair accesses the resort’s main peak and has fantastic natural terrain including bowls, gullies, glades and you’ll love the fantastic cruising runs that run down the ridges. Sheltered from moisture-laden Pacific air by the Cascade Mountains, Apex gets an average of 600cm/19ft of snow each year. This snow is dry and fluffy – the champagne powder Okanagan resorts are renowned for – completely different from snow at resorts closer to the ocean like Whistler Blackcomb. Ski conditions and terrain have repeatedly won Apex Mountain Resort accolades from Ski Canada Magazine, such as Best Steeps and Best Grooming.
Welcoming bonfires, torchlight parades, fireworks, skating, artfully clad moose and a snow-cat DJ booth… this pretty much sums up the nightlife & apres-ski scene and goes some way to explaining why Ski Canada Magazine has rated the Gunbarrel Saloon the best Après Ski Bar in the country.
With significant snowmaking capabilities coupled with elevation, our resort is able to produce skiable snow conditions during the early pre-season for national aerial, freestyle moguls & race teams training for the World Cup circuit.
